Guess Who Went to Washington!

Six Upper School members of Sun Valley Community School’s Model UN Club headed to Washington, D.C. for the fourth year in a row to compete in the North American Invitational Model United Nations. Our Cutthroats were among 3,300 high school delegates from around the country competing on committees, including the SPECPOL (Special Political and Decolonization) looking specifically at the question of protecting the human rights of refugees and COPOUS (Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space), which had students working specifically on the issue of space debris and basic question of ownership of our space.

Teachers Anne Aganon and Eric Covington accompanied the students as they competed at the conference. When not competing, the group toured the Capitol, visited the Library of Congress, and the African-American Museum.
