Engl Cup! The Tradition Continues

Engl Cup! The Tradition Continues

Community School recently celebrated one of our longest-held traditions: Engl Cup. Named for Peggy and Sigi Engl, Engl Cup is one of the school’s oldest traditions, bridging the past with the future. Peggy and Sigi were two of Community School’s founding supporters, who had the foresight to start the endowment fund for the school. This event began as a fun way to honor these two individuals. The goal for the event each year is to bring students and staff together for fun and community spirit.

The ECC, kindergarten, and first grade classes participated in active, community-building activities on campus, and students in grades 2-12 gathered at Dollar Mountain dressed to ski and fully-costumed, where they joined their cross-divisional color groups for a scavenger hunt and other games that took them all over the mountain.

In recent years, the Student Senate has added a fundraising component to this tradition. This year’s “Bucket Challenge” benefited Higher Ground.

As the photos display, school spirit was high again this year!
