Annual Fund 2020-21: Every Fish in the School Counts!

Annual Fund 2020-21: Every Fish in the School Counts!

Dear Sun Valley Community School Families and Friends,

Three weeks into this highly unusual school year, we are thrilled to know that our students are on campus, engaged in learning, and taking every bit of our school’s mission to heart. We are incredibly proud of our faculty and staff and we are grateful to our school community as a whole for their efforts to make it happen.

Every September, we reach out to our thoughtful and generous community to ask for support for the school’s Annual Fund, which provides the critical, unrestricted funding that our school needs to deliver an exceptional education and paramount experiences for our children. Tuition does not cover the full costs of running our school’s programs—this year, the gap is approximately $5,000 per student. Rather than increase tuition to meet the full cost of operations, we ask for donations to the Annual Fund to help bridge this gap on a tax-deductible basis.

Annual Fund dollars also allow our school to recruit and retain outstanding faculty members and help provide need-based financial aid to students in all three divisions. This year has presented additional variable costs to the operating budget as the health and well-being of our school community is of highest priority. The school has incurred and will continue to incur costs to address the health crisis while continuing to best deliver a dynamic and engaging education during these unprecedented times.

As chairs of this year’s Annual Fund campaign and parents at the school, we are honored to lead this essential fundraising effort. We have seen the impact our school has had in our own children’s lives and ask that you join us to help raise the funds we need for our school to live its mission to the fullest. Our goal, as it is every year, is 100 percent participation from parents, faculty and staff, and the Board of Trustees. And for the ninth year in a row, our faculty, staff and Board of Trustees have already met this goal!

RUNNING OF THE TROUT $100,000 MATCHING CHALLENGE

Again this year, four Champions of the Annual Fund have sponsored the ninth annual Running of the Trout $100,000 Matching Challenge. These generous donors will match the sum of every pledge and gift received by October 11, dollar for dollar, up to a total of $100,000. This is an opportunity to have your pledge or gift effectively doubled through the terms of the match.
