Boys Soccer Heads to 4A State Tournament/EL EQUIPO DE FÚTBOL MASCULINO SE DIRIGE AL TORNEO ESTATAL 4A

On the boys' pitch, 47 total players (a record high number of participants in Head Coach Richard Whitelaw’s tenure) turned out to play for the Cutthroat boys team. As of October 14, JV had wrapped up their season ending 3-2. This year’s boys varsity team included 9 seniors and currently stands at 14-2-2 advancing to the District final against Wendell after a victory over Gooding in the semi-final. Leading the team for goals were senior Chris A. (22), junior Tommy H. and senior Hunter N. with 13 each and senior Anders C. with 11. At the District Tournament, the Cutthroats fell to rival Wendell in penalty kicks 4-2, earning them second. The team went on to beat Gooding in well-fought match at home in penalty kicks, sending them as the #2 conference seed at the 4A State Tournament. 

According to Head Coach Richard Whitelaw, the season’s highlight was the 2-2 draw at home versus longtime league rival Wendell. Thank you to Richard, Will Thomas (Assistant Varsity Coach now in his 7th season), Max Kwok (JV Coach) and Griff Rowell (JV Coach) for your energy, time, and dedication! Go, Cutthroats! 

En el campo de fútbol masculino, 47 jugadores (un número récord durante la etapa del Entrenador Richard Whitelaw) se presentaron para el equipo masculino Cutthroat. El 14 de octubre, el equipo JV había finalizado la temporada con un récord de 3-2. El equipo varsity masculino de este año incluyó a 9 jugadores del grado 12 y actualmente tiene un récord de 14-2-2, avanzando a la final del Distrito contra Wendell tras vencer a Gooding en la semifinal.
