The Community School Academic Calendar FlexPlan allows students (particularly winter sport athletes) to plan their high school curriculum to ensure that they can compete during the winter trimester with a reduced course load without compromising the quality of their education. The FlexPlan allows students to reduce to four core courses during the winter trimester in Ninth and Tenth grades, three core courses in the Eleventh grade and two courses in the Twelfth grade.

Requires Community Summer Courses for English 9, Spanish I or II, and an Elective: Music Appreciation, Local History or Psychology the summer before Ninth grade.
Tenth GradeGeometry or Algebra II, History 10, Chemistry, Language
Requires Community Summer Courses for English 10 and an Elective: Music Appreciation, Local History or Psychology the summer before Tenth grade.
Eleventh GradeAlgebra II or PreCalculus, History 11, Language
Requires Community Summer Courses for English 11: American Environmental Literature,
Geology of the Northwest and an Elective: Music Appreciation, Local History or Psychology the summer before Eleventh grade. In addition, many winter athletes may complete the Junior thesis
in the summer.Twelfth GradePreCalculus or Calculus, Language
Requires Community Summer Courses for English 12 and an Elective: Music Appreciation, Local History, or Psychology. Math or Language may be dropped in the senior year but most highly selective colleges want to see that students are taking the most challenging curriculum available.
