2017 Annual Auction
Dance the Night Away—Please Join Us!
Community School's "From Here...Anywhere" Auction takes place this Friday, May 5, at the Limelight Hotel. We invite our entire school community—whether attending the Auction or not—to partake in the fun at our free Auction Dance Party! Join our Auction attendees, Auction Tour Guides, Parents' Association, and faculty for dancing and more at 9 p.m in the Limelight Hotel's Living Room. Enjoy complimentary Cinco de Mayo-inspired drinks and snacks (first come, first served), dancing, and discounted  room rates . "The Ultimate Sun Valley Experience" raffle drawing will take place at the Auction Dance Party. To preview

17 Senior Projects
Senior Projects: May 15-19
Our seniors have been working hard on their Senior Projects, capstone endeavors that showcase their passions. From interning for a fashion company in New York City to studying homelessness in Boise to visiting North Korea, our students have traveled near and far for their projects. Seniors who completed a project will begin their presentations on Friday, May 12 in Community School's Theatre.  Presentations  will continue  through Friday,
May 19.  A presentation  schedule is still being finalized.

This year's ceremony will be held on Sunday, June 4 at 1 p.m. at the Sun Valley Pavilion. Stay tuned for more details on the ceremony and speaker. Congratulations, Class of 2017!

16 Moving Up Ceremony
Year-End Ceremonies
The end of the school year is around the corner and several ceremonies will be held in upcoming weeks to honor our students' accomplishments. The eighth grade Moving-Up Ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, June 1 at 4:30 p.m. and the fifth grade Moving-Up Ceremony is set for Friday, June 2 at 11 a.m. The All-School Awards Ceremony will take place on Friday, June 2 at 3:30 p.m.

More than 45 students and faculty were involved in the Middle School Masque's production of DreamWorks Madagascar – A Musical Adventure, Jr. Directed and produced by Middle School drama teacher Joel Vilinsky, both performances drew sold-out crowds! A special thank you to Peter Burke and Tizz Miller (choreography), Alyssa
Claffey (vocals/sound), Reid Dowdle and Robin Seitz
(set construction), and student Abigail Sheerin (costumes).

Track Team 2017
Spring Sports: Tennis, Golf, Track
Tennis, golf, and track are enjoying strong seasons! Read about our athletes' latest accomplishments in golf, tennis, and track. Come out and support our tennis teams at their home matches this Tuesday, May 2 at 1 p.m. against Sugar-Salem and 5 p.m. against Gooding, and on Friday, May 5 at 4:30 p.m. against Mountain Home.  

CAE 2017
Creative Arts Evening May 25
Please join us for Creative Arts Evening on Thursday, May 25. The evening will celebrate Elementary School through twelfth grade artistic creativity. The night will include musical and vocal performances by Middle and Upper School students and dramatic performances by Elementary School students. Art from Elementary, Middle, and Upper School divisions will also be displayed throughout Hagenbuch Hall for the Creative Arts and Middle School.

Please join us in Community School's Theatre on Wednesday, May 17 and Thursday, May 18 from 7 - 9 p.m. for Outdoor Leadership Academy (OLA) student Capstone Presentations. These presentations articulate each senior candidate's growth as a leader, both in the outdoors and in our greater community. 

2017 Alumni Annual Fund Challenge
Alumni Annual Fund Challenge
Calling all alumni! Join your fellow Cutthroats and show your Cutthroat pride during the Second Annual Battle of the Decades with a gift to the Annual Fund. The decade with the highest percentage of Annual Fund participation by May 26 will vote on a current Community School Upper School student to receive the "Classic Cutthroat" $1,000 scholarship. received since July 1, 2016  count toward the challenge.

* The ECC will host a Gallery Opening on Thursday, May 11, from 4 - 6 p.m. at Ketchum's Lipton Gallery. The event is free and open to the public. Come support our youngest Cutthroats!

*Upper School students in Phil Huss's Hemingway class recently completed a video project about the famous author. In partnership with the Community Library and Sun Valley Museum, they presented their project to the public on April 12. Read more about the project here
