Sun Valley Community School is seeking a dynamic Upper Elementary School Teacher. This is a full-time position with benefits beginning August, 2024. Strong candidates will have the following personal and professional attributes:

• a deep understanding of the developmental breadth found in upper elementary school students
• the ability to provide a variety of learning opportunities, methods, and materials, which support the diversity of abilities within the classroom 
• be an organized, creative individual who motivates and inspires students to achieve their personal best 
• works collaboratively with faculty and communicates clearly with parents
• practices thoughtful, respectful, and effective classroom management techniques, which support active learning and promote responsibility and self-management
• is versed in current trends on pedagogical methodology and technology integration
• values outdoor education and will participate in multi-day, overnight trips in the field as part of our Outdoor Program
• 3-5 years as a lead teacher in the upper elementary grades
• Bachelor’s degree or greater

Sun Valley Community School is seeking an Experienced Cook starting immediately to participate in our mission to serve nutritious, locally sourced, sustainable food for the school's Residence Hall dinner program. The hours are 3:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. Sunday-Thursday, with occasional extended hours for special events. The position includes preparing, serving, and cleaning after dinner service, as well as maintenance kitchen cleaning. This person must possess strong knife skills, be able to lift 40 pounds, and will work directly with our Head Chef. This is a part-time position that is not eligible for school benefits. Compensation is between $20-$25/ hour based on experience.

Successful candidates must have cooking experience and a love of preparing made-from-scratch food with a desire to work within a school environment, be detail-oriented, dependable, and flexible.
