Development | Annual Fund | Ways of Giving Planned Giving

Dear Parents and Friends:

“From Here….Anywhere.” We know these words to be true about Community School graduates. They are teachers, researchers, entrepreneurs, business professionals, scientists, outdoor guides, writers, doctors and nurses, activists and inventors, athletes and artists. They are scattered around the country and around the globe.

Some graduates are back at Community School in new roles as involved parents of their own children and some as faculty members. We have recent graduates studying at Stanford and Yale, at Whitman and Bennington, at the University of Oregon and the University of Virginia.

Whatever their passions and their goals, Community School graduates are prepared for success in college and ready to make a difference in the world. They are shaped by professional and caring teachers, a solid academic foundation, independence and self-confidence honed in our Outdoor Program, friendships formed in small classes, and opportunities to explore and speak their minds at each grade level.

Community School is a unique and special place, a place that exists because of the generosity of parents, teachers, our Board of Directors, alumni and friends. We invite you to help us continue to advance our excellent school by contributing to the Annual Fund.

The money we raise each year from this campaign makes a substantial contribution to the school’s budget and the quality of programming we provide in the classroom as well as in the arts, athletics, and the Outdoor Program.

Tuition does not cover what it takes to keep our school great. In fact, tuition covers approximately 83% of the cost of educating our students – a tuition gap of $3,897 per student.

Please join our faculty and Board of Directors, all of whom have given or pledged already, by making a tax deductible contribution to the 2011-2012 Annual Fund. We need and invite each family to give at the level they are able.

What matters is that every Community School family participates.

With your help, we will reach our goal of $410,000 and 100% participation. Your gift helps ensure that from here…our students - your children - can go anywhere.

Sincerely,

Lisa Stelck Director of Development
