I am so pleased
you are considering Community School as an option for your child’s
education
and I invite you to tour the campus and meet with me so you can see firsthand
what it is that makes Community School so special.
We all feel
fortunate to work in this vibrant educational environment where learning takes
place inside and outside of the classroom on a daily basis. Walk on this campus
and you might see kindergarteners
creating full-size self-portraits that demonstrate their developmental growth,
eighth graders growing food in their student-built greenhouse to learn about
sustainable agriculture, and seniors, dressed in black justice robes, arguing
about the constitutionality of the death penalty.
At all grade
levels, you will observe engaged students who are happy to be in school. You
will hear students thanking their
teachers as they leave class. You
will witness the collegiate feel of our Upper School’s round table
discussion
groups. You will see teachers who
challenge their students to think creatively and, most importantly, to take
risks in this environment where it is safe to do so.
Each year, we talk
about what makes Community School stand out among other educational options in
our Valley and beyond. Each year we come back to this: Community School
graduates are prepared, not only for college, but for life.
A personal visit
to the school tells you more then any literature will. We urge you to meet our
students and
faculty, visit classrooms, and get to know our community. We also invite you to
explore our website to learn more about our programs. You can access admissions
information by clicking on the
“Admissions” button at the top of the home page.
Please do not hesitate to call me if you have any questions about the
admissions process. I
look forward to sharing our Community School story.
Sincerely yours,
Katie Robins
