The Sun Valley Area

Founded in 1973, Community School is an independent PK-12 college preparatory school nestled in the mountains of beautiful Sun Valley, Idaho. Sun Valley is a vibrant resort community known for world-class winter and summer recreation, as well as diverse cultural offerings.

Surrounded by hundreds of miles of pristine wilderness, Community School is located in one of the most extraordinary settings in the country. Sun Valley is a safe, dynamic community with a small-town feel and a cosmopolitan outlook.The area offers skiing and snowboarding on some of the best downhill and cross-country terrain in the world. Figure skaters from around the world come to train on Sun Valley’s famous outdoor rink. 

Recreation and wilderness experiences abound, including mountain biking, river rafting, hiking, rock climbing and camping. The area boasts a vibrant arts scene with many galleries and arts festivals, and an array of concerts, plays, lectures and literary events throughout the year.
